Burton Hill Campsite is a relaxed and friendly
site, offering a perfect location for long holidays and short
breaks. Many of our visitors return year after year; some
spending many weekends of the year here and others, maybe
working in the area, for the weekdays.
There is so much to keep you entertained:
Activities such as fishing,
cycling, walking, golf, the sports centre with swimming pool.
Retail therapy, Gardens, Museums, National Trust properties,
Prehistoric sites, Canals, Wiltshire speciality foods, Family
attractions.
We are committed to our aim to provide our visitors
and residents with an environmentally friendly campsite; it
is our aim to provide recycling facilities, to use renewable
energy where possible, to provide a haven for wildlife, in
fact to be as energy efficient and ‘green’ as
we can.
The touring park has electric hook ups as well
as pitches without, and welcomes caravans, tents and motor
homes. The shower and toilet block is brand new and includes
facilities for family and disabled use. We also have an area
for the storage of touring caravans, please contact us for
more details.
The first phase of the development of new
park homes is now complete and selected homes are for
sale, with reservations for the second phase now being taken.
Just a 5-10 minute walk along part of the town’s
river walk brings you to mediaeval Malmesbury, a bustling
market town with pubs, restaurants, supermarket, shops, etc.
Malmesbury is crowned by the 12th century Abbey and is the
oldest borough in England.
Meander through the winding streets which offer you serenity,
breathtaking views and a little exercise to reach the town
centre where you may discover the tomb of Athelstan the first
king of all England, see where Elmer the enterprising monk
attempted the first man to fly from the top of the Abbey,
find the gravestone of Hannay Twynnoy who was mauled by tigre
fierce, visit the birthplace of Thomas Hobbes the philosopher.
So much to do and see, as well of course, as relaxing here
at Burton Hill!
Burton Hill Caravan Park also has a residential
park and a caravan storage
area.
