Access Statement

Access to Burton Hill Caravan Park is from the A429 south of Malmesbury. From the main road, visitors take Arches Lane for about 200 yards and then turn right up a small incline towards the park. There is a tarmac lane beside a copper beech avenue and then turn left past the park homes and to the campsite.

All visitors are requested to report to reception before accessing the camping ground.

The campsite is of grass – with no roadways. Guests are requested to keep their speed below 5mph at all times.

The shower block has one step onto concrete all the way around, except for access to the family/disabled shower room which has a low ramp. This shower room has a shower with handrails, a basin with easily operated taps and a toilet with hand rail.

Both ladies and gents facilities have 2 pressure operated showers, 3 toilets and 3 wash hand basins.

There are 3 washing up sinks and a large sink for clothes washing. The coin operated washing machine is also available.

The ablution complex also has a drinking water tap, grey water disposal with tap and chemical toilet disposal – also with a tap. There is another drinking water tap and grey water disposal point halfway down the field.

Visitors may walk into Malmesbury; either along part of the town’s river walk – this takes about 10mins – or by keeping to the pavement, back towards the main road, but cutting through the houses – taking an extra 5 minutes.

The bus stop at the main road will take you either to Chippenham or into Malmesbury. From the centre of the town, buses will also take you to Cirencester, Swindon (may be caught on the Swindon Road), Yate, Bath and Tetbury. Bus timetables are available in our ‘tourist information’ room. Please note that there is a step up to the information room.

The nearest train stations are at Kemble (10 mins by car) and Chippenham, 20 mins, main line from London to Bristol. Bristol airport is 57 miles and 55 mins away.
